Mizrachi Dominates as Main Event Reaches Four Players

The $10,000 Main Event moved at a lightning pace on Tuesday with four players eliminated in less than two hours. Just four remain going into Wednesday’s action, which will see a new champion crowned. Michael Mizrachi remains the story, bringing a massive chip lead into play. The poker pro from Miami, Florida, has 445,500,000 chips – more than three times the other players combined.

"I’m feeling great, but I’ll be feeling much better when I have 100 percent," Mizrachi said after play concluded on Tuesday.

John Wasnock sits second in chips with 94,500,000, followed by Braxton Dunaway with 25,500,000 and Kenny Hallaert 19,000,000. On Tuesday, Daehyung Lee hit the rail first for a $1 million payout. Next to fall was Jarod Minghini for $1.25 million and Leo Margets finished seventh for $1.5 million. Adam Hendrix exited after his pocket jacks couldn’t hold up to Mizrachi’s ace-king, going out in sixth for $1.9 million. Luka Bojovic went out in fifth for $2.4 million. Play was stopped shortly afterward, making for a quick day at the tables.

Sam Soverel Speeds to Victory in $10,000 NLHE Six-Handed Championship

The quick play carried over to Event #94: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed Championship on Tuesday. Poker pro Sam Soverel needed less than 20 minutes to vanquish his three foes on the fourth day of play to secure his third bracelet and $986,337. The event drew 546 entries for a $5.1 million prize pool.

“I ran exceptionally well in all-ins,” Soverel said after the victory. “I feel like I’ve been running hot all summer. Day 2 of this one went well, but I kept losing all-ins toward the end. Then on Day 3, I just started winning the most ridiculous ones. I kept shoving on people with absolute dust, and they’d call with jacks or something, and I’d just drill a queen or king or ace. It’s nice to win every all-in for once.”
