Jordan Glazer Wins 1st PGT Title in NAPT Las Vegas $10K NLH Knockout
The NAPT Las Vegas continued from Resorts World Las Vegas on Sunday, November 9, with the conclusion of the penultimate PGT-qualifying event of the series. Sam Soverel won his second career NAPT Las Vegas title by emerging victorious in Event #32: $12,300 PokerStars Cuatro Knockout for $116,840 and $84,000 in bounties.
Soverel won his 13th career PGT title, moving back ahead of Stephen Chidwick, who tied Soverel with 12 PGT titles a few days earlier when he won the $50k Super High Roller. A few days earlier, Soverel became the second player in PGT history to accomplish the milestone of 100 career PGT cashes, and with his 101st career PGT cash, he also picked up 117 PGT points. Soverel's 25th PGT cash of the season propelled him to a season tally of 2,736 PGT points - just 81 PGT points behind current leader Alex Foxen. Both players are looking to win their first PGT Player of the Year titles.
Event #32 attracted 39 entrants and paid the final six players. Isaac Haxton was eliminated on the money bubble in seventh place, and Maria Konnikova fell in sixth place for $23,700. Jeremy Ausmus finished in fifth place for $30,500, and in the process, he earned his 100th career PGT cash to become the third player to reach that milestone. The 31 PGT points he earned also thrust him to 47th on the PGT leaderboard, and with the eligibility criteria of three cashes to qualify for the PGT $1,000,000 Championship, Ausmus is now technically 39th on the PGT leaderboard.
Chance Kornuth was eliminated in fourth place and earned his third PGT cash of the season, and when Dan Smith fell in third place, he picked up his fourth PGT cash of the season. Jordan Glazer continued his remarkable run at NAPT Las Vegas with his fourth cash when he finished runner-up to Soverel. Glazer is now fourth on the NAPT Las Vegas Dream Seat Leaderboard with 211 PGT points and 135th on the PGT leaderboard with 427 PGT points.
