Koray Aldemir famously won the 2021 World Series of Poker Main Event for $8,000,000, topping the 6,650-entry field for what was his first WSOP gold bracelet. At the 2022 WSOP, Aldemir is off to a hot start, with three cashes through the first 12 events for nearly $600,000 in total prize money.

Aldemir began his 2022 WSOP campaign with a fifth-place finish in Event #2: $100,000 High Roller Bounty, scoring $249,693. Aldemir finished in fifth place from a field of 46 entries. Next, Aldemir reached the final table of the record-setting Event #8: $25,000 NL Hold’em High Roller. The event drew 251 entries. Aldemir finished sixth for $241,791. Most recently, Aldemir found his way to the money in Event #12: $50,000 NL Hold’em High Roller. In this event that drew 85 entries, Aldemir finished 11th for $100,000. All told, Aldemir’s three cashes early in the 2022 WSOP amount to $591,484 in prize money.

Aldemir teamed up with Maria Ho for the popular 25K Fantasy league that is run by Daniel Negreanu each year. Ho and Aldemir are co-managing the team and drafted themselves to the squad. Although Ho has no cashes yet at the 2022 WSOP, Aldemir’s three cashes have him earning 122 points for the team, which is good for the third-highest scoring player to date.

With several more no-limit hold’em high roller events on the 2022 WSOP schedule, starting with Event #42: $100,000 NL Hold’em High Roller on Sunday, June 19, don’t be surprised to see Aldemir’s name pop up next to large scores at this WSOP.
