The Texas PLO Roundup $3,300 Main Event resumed Sunday at Champions Club in Houston, Texas, with 43 players returning for Day 2 already in the money and guaranteed at least $5,500. However, everyone would have their eyes set on the $220,000 first-place prize, 220 PGT points, and the coveted Texas PLO Roundup Belt Buckle trophy.

The $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool was surpassed after Sunday morning’s turbo flight drew 51 entries, bringing the total field to 337 and pushing the prize pool to $1,011,000. After roughly 11 hours of action, Day 1B chip leader Stephen Hubbard bagged the top stack among the final seven players with 7,450,000, nearly 40% of the total chips in play. Philip Shing sits second with 3,840,000, while Day 1D chip leader Vito Qingyu Lu rounds out the top three with 3,160,000.

Hubbard began the day third in chips with 927,000 and never relented from there. He chipped up early through Christopher Costa and Alex Livingston before going on a late-day surge. He eliminated Robert Cowen and Jim Collopy in the same hand to approach the 4,000,000 mark, sent out Jared Ingles to cross 5,000,000, then picked off a sizable bluff from Christopher Hannel and ultimately sent him to the rail to move past 5,500,000. He capped his run by hitting a rivered flush to crack Livingston’s kings on the final-table bubble. The chips went in on a Q-7-4-K board, with Livingston holding K-K-9-3 and Hubbard holding J-8-6-5 with a flush draw, which was completed by a club on the river.

Shing built his stack slowly throughout the day, then went on a run of his own in the final few hours, eliminating Joshua Hale, Bruno Furth, and Antti Marttinen. Lu, who started the day as the overall chip leader with 1,400,000, was able to near the 3,000,000 chip mark during the first level of the day when he played a massive pot to eliminate Barrett Threadgill. He maintained his stack from there, peaking at around 4,500,000, and sent out Danylo Turov from the feature table in 10th place.

Day 1A chip leader David Shaw (2,650,000), Costa (1,455,000), Sterling Savill (1,160,000), and Joe Firova (290,000) round out the remaining final table.

Other notable players who made it into the money include Jordan Glazer (16th), Bryce Yockey (25th), Brevin Andreadis (29th), Evan Krentzman (33rd), Frederic Normand (35th), Andrew Ige (37th), and David Mzareulov (42nd).

Cards are in the air on Monday, November 24th, at 1 p.m. CT, with the stream on PokerGO and the PokerGO YouTube channel starting at 2 p.m.
