The 2023 Poker Masters continued at the PokerGO Studio from ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Stephen Chidwick bagged a massive chip lead as six players remain in Event #8: $25,000 No-Limit Hold'em.

Chidwick ended the day with a stack of 4,340,000, good for more than 57% of the chips in play while no one else will even return with a seven-figure stack. Chidwick leads Alex Foxen, Sam Soverel, Darren Elias, Chris Brewer, and Chino Rheem into the final day of play as the six players return at 12 p.m. PT on Saturday, September 23 with the delayed final table stream beginning at 1 p.m. PT on PokerGO.

The field of 50 entrants created a prize pool of $1,250,000 and the top eight finishers earned a piece of it. Brandon Wittmeyer was the unfortunate bubble boy when he got his chips in with top set against Chidwick's top pair. Chidwick made a backdoor straight and Wittmeyer was eliminated in brutal fashion.

The players then converged on a single table and Chidwick steadily added to his chip lead. Jason Koon was eliminated in eighth place when he got ace-ten in against Chidwick's ace-king and received no help. Elias became the short stack but doubled through Haxton, before Haxton got his chips in against Chidwick. Haxton ran ace-queen into ace-king and failed to improve, and the six remaining players then bagged and tagged to return for the streamed final table on Saturday.

Chidwick and Soverel each notched their second cash of the series. Elias and Rheem picked up their third cash of the series, while Foxen and Brewer each secured their fourth. Rheem will also have the opportunity to overtake Purple Jacket frontrunner Vladas Tamasauskas on the Poker Masters leaderboard with a victory, as the returning players eye the $400,000 first-place prize, 240 PGT points, and Event #8 trophy.
