Samy Dighlawi is the definition of a Las Vegas tournament grinder with the results he has been amassing in 2022. With Dighlawi's victory in Event #4: $900 No-Limit Hold'em of the 2022 Stairway To Millions for $11,330, Dighlawi collected his 56th cash of the year, and amazingly to coincide with those results, it was his 24th win.

Earlier in the series, Dighlawi made a run at the Event #2 title but fell short in fourth place. After entering today's final table second in chips, he stumbled early but managed to regain his composure and play aggressively to take home his first Stairway To Millions title. Dighlawi now sits with more than $537,000 in lifetime tournament earnings which includes more than $89,000 in earnings this year on top of an impressive 2021, which included his first WSOP bracelet in the $1,000 Tag Team event.

Event #4 of the Stairway To Millions was the final $900 No-Limit Hold'em event of the series and attracted 74 entrants, creating a prize pool of $59,200. Once play reached the money bubble, and the speed of play halted, it would be a double elimination that thrust the field into the money. Fortunately for Jerry Dababneh and Yuzu Wang, they split 12th place prize money and the $1,640 seat into Event #5 or #6 to take home $1,249 and $1,248, respectively.

Just six players survived into the final day of play, and it would be Elvis Toomas holding the chip lead ahead of Dighlawi. Both players sat with nearly 70% of the chips in play, and once cards were in the air, they leaned on their aggression to extend their leads. Unfortunately for Dighlawi, a few pots didn't fall his way as he doubled up Robert Zeidman. Toomas also began to descend down the leaderboard before he managed to eliminate Danny Chi in sixth place when his ace-five flopped a five and turned trips against the ace-eight of Chi.

Francis Anderson was the next to exit when he shoved with queen-jack but ran into the pocket aces of Kevin Thomas. Anderson took fifth place to go along with his Event #1 win and Event #2 runner-up finish. Zeidman would be the next to fall after he was all-in against both Toomas and Dighlawi. Toomas made an ace-high flush on the river and eliminated Zeidman in fourth place to leave the final three players having now locked up a $2,740 seat into Event #7.

The final three players all took their turn sharing the chip lead, but unfortunately for Toomas, he would fall in third place. Toomas shoved over a Dighlawi limp with pocket jacks, and Thomas called in the big blind with ace-jack. Thomas flopped an ace and improved to a flush on the river to put Event #4 down to the final two. Dighlawi held a two-to-one chip lead over Thomas, and immediately extended his chip lead before the final hand saw the money enter the turn with Dighlawi holding bottom pair and a flush draw against the over cards and straight draw of Thomas. The river landed a heart, and Thomas was eliminated in second place as Dighlawi was crowned the Event #4 champion after securing his incredibly impressive 24th victory of 2022.
