Super High Roller Bowl X resumed on Sunday at the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, with just 11 players from the 16-player starting field. With late registration open for one more level, the field expanded to 23 entrants. After seven levels of play, just five players remained, with Sam Soverel holding the chip lead.
Soverel is chasing his first Super High Roller Bowl title and his fifth victory of the 2025 PGT season. With an in-the-money finish, he will move to first on the PGT leaderboard and overtake Alex Foxen with just six PGT-qualifying events remaining for the season. Soverel began the day with just over starting stack and steadily built his stack throughout the day. He eliminated David Chen, Cary Katz, and Alex Foxen, and scooped a big pot late on Day 2 against Thomas Boivin to rocket up the leaderboard to thrust him into position to finish as the Day 2 chip leader.
Also in contention is former PGT Championship winner Jason Koon, who finished Day 2 with 1,720,000 in chips. Koon can push into the Top 40 on the PGT leaderboard with a third-place or better finish.
Joao Simao is third overall with 1,390,000 in chips, and is at his second Super High Roller Bowl final table after finishing third in Super High Roller Bowl: $100k Pot-Limit Omaha for $550,000. Nick Schulman is fourth overall with 1,220,000 in chips, and with a win, he can move into fourth on the PGT leaderboard, overtaking Michael Mizrachi. Rounding out the final table is Jun Obara with 700,000 in chips, and he was making his PokerGO Studio debut. With a victory, Obara can move just outside the Top 40 on the PGT leaderboard.
The 23-player field generated a $2,300,000 prize pool, with just the final four players finishing in the money. Whoever fades being the first elimination will be guaranteed $200,000 in prize money, and the winner will receive the $1,100,000 first-place prize, 400 PGT points, and the Super High Roller Bowl championship ring.
Day 2 saw seven players enter, including Schulman, Obara, Sam Kiki, Bryn Kenney, Dan Smith, David Chen, and Alex Foxen. As the night closed in on midnight, Daniel Negreanu, Dan Smith, Thomas Boivin, and Andrew Lichtenberger were the final eliminations before play ended with five players.
