The Poker Masters finally arrived after weeks and speculation. The first of four $50,000 High Roller events goes live on PokerGO at 8 pm ET Wednesday, with the tournament getting cards in the air at 2 pm PT. Exact numbers aren’t locked down, but a field of about 30 players are expected for Event #1.
Ali Nejad and David Williams anchor the broadcast live from the ARIA Resort & Casino. Nejad’s been the voice of Poker After Dark since 2007 and recently added the 2017 Super High Roller Bowl to his reel. Williams took a turn at the anchor’s desk during the World Series of Poker for PokeGO and stepped in front of the camera during “Voices Carry” on Poker After Dark.
Daniel Negreanu, Ben Tollerene, Dan Smith, Doug Polk, Brian Rast, Isaac Haxton and Bryn Kenney are expected to play from the American contingent of High Rollers.
Stefan Schillhabel, Koray Aldemir and Dominik Nitsche were among a few German players that arrived early in Las Vegas for the event. Following a team dinner, some of them jumped in the $1/$3 NL game in ARIA’s room.

Negreanu is making the biggest noise in advance of the event, betting big on himself to win the Poker Masters Purple Jacket™. According to his Twitter, he’s booked 23 $50,000 must-win bets for a potential $1.15 million payday in additional action.

The field is scheduled to play down to the final seven players before breaking for the night. The finalists have an early return at noon – with the final table on PokerGO at 3:30 pm ET on Thursday. The structure is friendly for finalists to hop in the next event. Follow all of the Poker Masters action for eight days on Poker Central and PokerGO.
