Kristopher Tong earned his first WSOP gold bracelet on Saturday at the 2025 World Series of Poker, winning the prestigious $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship. Tong topped a field of 207 entries to take home the $452,689 first-place prize.
As expected, Event #55 at the 2025 WSOP was stacked, with every seat filled by a world-class competitor. That was especially true at the final table, where Tong had to battle with the likes of Maximilian Schindler, Brad Ruben, Jason Mercier, Marco Johnson, Alex Livingston, Scott Seiver, and Walter Chambers. In the end, Tong defeated Schindler in heads-up play, finishing the job during a round of seven-card stud hi-lo.
Not only did the win secure Tong his first WSOP bracelet, but it also gave Tong his largest-ever career tournament score. Tong, often a high-stakes mixed games player, told PokerNews that he was bitten by the tournament bug after seeing his friend, Philip Sternheimer, win his first gold bracelet recently. Now that he’s got his first, Tong has aspirations of gunning for more.
