Daniel Negreanu and Seth Davies Enter Top 3 on PGT Leaderboard
The PGT Mixed Games 2024 series began on Wednesday at the PokerGO Studio from ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada with Event #1: $5,100 H.O.R.S.E. The tournament drew a field of 87 entries and leading the final six players after Day 1 are Dennis Maschke and Daniel Negreanu.
Maschke has a slight lead with 2,500,000 to Negreanu's 2,400,000. Rounding out the final table are Benny Glaser with 2,375,000, Maksim Pisarenko with 2,100,000, Andrew Kelsall with 2,075,000, and Mike Gorodinsky with 1,700,000. These six players will return on Thursday, already guaranteed $21,750. Up top for the winner is the $117,450 first-place prize, 117 PGT points, and the Event #1 trophy.
The field of 87 entries created a prize pool of $435,000 and the final 13 players earned a piece of it. Dylan Weisman just missed out, busting on the money bubble when his ace-high flush draw in Stud didn't get there against Eli Elezra's jack-high flush. Once in the money, Aaron Kupin (13th), Marco Johnson (12th), Elezra (11th), and Allan Le (10th) were the first few to fall. Following them were Brian Rast (9th) and Jim Collopy (8th).
The field then combined down to the final table of seven players and needed to bust one more to set Thursday's live-streamed final table. John Monnette fell in seventh place, getting in his short stack with four to a flush in Stud. Benny Glaser had split tens and Monnette failed to improve with the rest of his runout, setting the live-streamed final table of six players.
Play resumes at 12 p.m. PT on Thursday, February 29th with the delayed final table stream beginning at 1 p.m. PT on PokerGO.com and on PokerGO YouTube.
