Craig Mason Wins PGT Venetian Las Vegas Classic High Roller #3 for $85,750
The 2025 Poker Masters continued at the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, with the Poker Masters $1,000,000 Showcase. Day 1B drew 130 entries, and leading the 19 advancing players is David Coleman with 2,440,000.
Coleman was one card away from elimination when he got his chips in on the turn with a set of queens in a three-way all-in, and was up against a straight and a flush draw. The river paired the board to give Coleman a full house, and he scored the triple up to hold a massive stack, which he then leveraged to accumulate more en route to the overnight chip lead.
Sam Soverel (1,550,000), Stephen Song (1,495,000), Jeremy Eyer (1,345,000), and Neil Warren (1,265,000) round out the top five, while Justin Zaki (940,000), Joey Weissman (570,000), Jeremy Ausmus (385,000), Andrew Moreno (200,000), and Justin Saliba (185,000) were among those to finish with chips in the bag. Jim Agate (680,000), Anju Abrol (585,000), and Keegan Westover (400,000) each won their way in via PGT satellite and also made it into the money for Day 2.
The tournament drew a total of 239 entrants across two flights, resulting in a prize pool of $1,195,000. There will be 35 players returning for Day 2 with $8,600 locked up, but all eyes will be on the $270,000 first-place prize, 270 PGT points, and the brand-new Poker Masters Event #1 Purple Jacket trophy.
On the final hand of the night, Sam Laskowitz got his chips in preflop with ace-queen against the ace-king of Soverel. The runout changed nothing, and Laskowitz was eliminated on the stone bubble for the second day in a row.
The remaining players will combine and return for Day 2 at noon on Sunday, September 21.
