Chad Eveslage is now a four-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner. Eveslage emerged victorious in Event #98: $25,000 H.O.R.S.E. High Roller to earn $883,841 in prize money and 530 PGT points.
This was Eveslage's fifth-largest career score and propelled him to more than $10,670,000 in lifetime career earnings, according to The Hendon Mob. He also now sits 152nd on the All-Time Money List after securing his fourth career WSOP bracelet since 2022.
Event #98 attracted 150 entrants and generated a prize pool of $3,525,000, which paid the final 23 players. Those finishing in the money, but short of the final table, included Eric Wasserson, Jason Mercier, Elior Sion, Yuri Dzivielevski, John Monnette, Nick Guagenti, and David Oppenheim.
Chris Hunichen was eliminated in eighth place when he was unable to best John Hennigan's buried kings in Stud. However, Hennigan would exit next when he started with split Queens in Stud Hi-Lo, but Ryan Miller ran out a wheel by seventh.
Phil Ivey fell in sixth place when his ace-four suited was outdrawn by the king-queen of Brian Rast in Hold'em. Five players head to dinner, and on return, Miller would be the next casualty during Stud Hi-Lo when his low draw improved to open Queens, but that wasn't enough to best Rast's pair of kings.
Nacho Barbero was eliminated in fourth place by Tony Lewis during Omaha Hi-Lo. Barbero was all-in with second set on the flop against Lewis' pair and straight draw. Lewis filled his straight on the river and entered three-handed play with the chip lead.
Lewis sank down the leaderboard and would be eliminated in third place by Eveslage in Hold'em when his middle pair was outdrawn by Eveslage's runner-runner two pair. Eveslage began heads-up play with a 14.4 million to 8.1 million chip lead over Rast.
Eveslage put his foot on the gas pedal against Rast and extended his lead further and further. Eventually, during a Stud orbit, Rast would be all-in on fifth street with open fives against Eveslage's pair of jacks. No help came for Rast, and he was eliminated in second place while Eveslage earned his fourth career WSOP bracelet.
