Adam Bonilla, a PGT satellite winner who claimed to be "taking my shot," bagged the Day 1a chip lead in the 2026 PokerGO Cup $3,300 NL Hold'em Showcase event. Bonilla was one of the larger stacks at the PokerGO Studio all day on Sunday, but in the final level, he really turned up the heat to surge to the top.

Eight players remain and advance to Tuesday's Day 2. Behind Bonilla are Mitchell Halverson, Kai Nicholls, Michael Berk, Anthony Zinno, Victoria Livschitz, Sam Laskowitz, and Sean Winter. All of them are in the money and will await to see what Day 1b brings to add to the mix.

Rank Player Chips
1 Adam Bonilla 1,765,000
2 Mitchell Halverson 1,230,000
3 Kai Nicholls 965,000
4 Michael Berk 650,000
5 Anthony Zinno 570,000
6 Victoria Livschitz 555,000

Day 1a attracted a field of 54 entries. The final eight players were set to advance to Day 2, and they made it there with the elimination of Adam Hendrix in ninth place. According to PokerNews' live updates of the event, Hendrix got his money in with two nines against the pocket tens of Mitchell Halverson. The tens held to bust Hendrix on the Day 1a bubble.

Others to play Day 1a and fall short were Andrew Lichtenberger, Shannon Shorr, Cari Katz, Jeff Platt, Dylan Linde, Jonathan Little, and Joe McKeehen.

When play concluded on Day 1a, the blinds were in Level 15 with 20 minutes remaining of 15,000/25,000.
