The 2019 U.S. Poker Open is officially underway. From February 13-23, the world’s best will compete across ten high stakes events for the USPO Championship. The USPO trophy, $100,000, and the first High Roller Triple Crown title of 2019 is up for grabs and each day, “Today at the Open” will recap the action and prepare fans for PokerGO‘s final table streams.
Brandon Adams emphasized his high stakes return with a victory at the 2017 Poker Masters. While Adams earned a career-best $819,000 score, it wasn’t enough to contend for the inaugural Purple Jacket. Almost immediately after the win, Adams began preparing for his next High Roller Triple Crown test.
INSIDERS followed Adams, along with Seth Davies and Daniel Negreanu, through the months leading up to the 2018 Super High Roller Bowl. The series documented Adams’ entire journey. From the first day of training with Patrik Antonius to a near-bubble bust out in the biggest event of his career. It also documented Adams’ first close High Roller Triple Crown call.
The next close call came at the 2018 Poker Masters. Adams opened the series on an unstoppable tear. Three cashes from the first three events, including a $25,000 NLH victory, had Adams at the top of the Poker Masters Championship Standings. Then Ali Imsirovic happened and Lieutenant Lavender failed to record another cash. Another close call.
Close calls have kept Brandon Adams from Triple Crown titles, but since returning to the highest stakes Adams has continued to churn out results. He has another chance at Saturday’s $10,000 No Limit Hold’em final table. Adams returns trailing Stephen Chidwick and Sean Winter on both the Event #3 and overall leaderboard. A win immediately vaults Adams into USPO Championship contention, a win by either leader could lead to another close call.
Is the third time the charm? Is the 2019 U.S. Poker Open where Brandon Adams atones for these close calls? Find out, today at the Open. Subscribe to PokerGO now to watch the 2019 USPO live.
