The 2025 Poker Masters series continued today from the PokerGO Studio at Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, with Event #7: $10,100 No-Limit Hold'em. The 77-entrant field is now down to just the final table of six, and PGT newcomer Jared Hyman leads the way with 4,420,000 in chips.
Hyman comes into the final table holding roughly 50% of all the chips in play, and around a two-and-a-half-to-one lead over his next closest opponent, Cary Katz, who has 1,785,000. This is Katz's third cash of the series and his first final table. The six remaining players have each locked up $38,500, but everyone will be gunning for the $223,000 first-place prize, 223 PGT Points, and the coveted brand-new Poker Masters Purple Jacket trophy.
Rounding out the remaining final table players are Matthew McEwan (915,000), who collects his fourth cash of the series, Masato Yokosawa (880,000), who picks up his third, John Riordan (840,000), who, with his second final table of the series, has now entered the top 40 points earners to qualify for a seat in the $1,000,0000 PGT Championship, and Daniel Sepiol (735,000), who grabs his second cash of the series.
This was Hyman's first trip to the PokerGO Studio, and he's made it a worthwhile one so far. He was able to build his stack throughout the day by scoring a flurry of key late-day knockouts, including Clemen Deng to reach the 600,000 chip mark, and Bin Weng to get close to 800,000. He eliminated Alex Foxen to put him near 1,000,000, then busted Adam Hendrix to get to 1,700,000. He was then able to send out the current Poker Masters series points leader, Mitchell Halverson, to reach 2,500,000.
However, Hyman would also score the final elimination of the day and drag the biggest pot of the tournament so far against Dylan Linde. Linde raised under the gun, Hyman three-bet the button, Linde four-bet, and Hyman called. The two players saw a queen-jack-four rainbow flop, and Hyman called a continuation bet from Linde. The turn was a nine, Linde moved all in for a little over a million chips, and Hyman quickly called, tabling a set of queens to Linde's pocket kings. The river bricked, and Linde was out on the final table bubble.
The final $10,100 buy-in event of the 2025 Poker Masters drew a total of 77 entrants, creating a prize pool worth $770,000 and paying the final 11 players at least $23,100. The unfortunate bubble boy was Aram Oganyan, when his ace-queen couldn't pull ahead of Riordan's pocket jacks. Spencer Champlin (11th), Filipp Khavin (10th), Todd Hovenden (9th), Landon Tice (8th), and Linde (7th) all fell in the money.
With just three events remaining, including two $15,100 buy-ins and a $25,200 buy-in finale, the leaderboard race is heating up. Riordan can take the Poker Masters series points lead from Halverson with a win, and a win from McEwan would put him in fourth place, just behind Stephen Song. The top points earner of the series will take home the coveted Poker Masters Purple Jacket and a $25,000 PGT Passport.
Several elite players and PGT regulars made their way to the PokerGO Studio, ready to battle it out for one of the top prizes and to collect some PGT points, as only the 40 highest PGT points earners at the end of the year will gain access to the $1,000,000 PGT Championship Freeroll. Those players included Kristen Foxen, Alex Foxen, Sam Soverel, Erik Seidel, Nick Schulman, Daren Elias, Jared Jaffee, Andrew Moreno, Jesse Lonis, David Coleman, Victoria Livschitz, Michael Moncek, Sam Laskowitz, Matthew Wantman, Jeremy Becker, Nick Seward, Micheal Berk, David Chen, Martin Zamani, Cherish Andrews, Joey Weissman, Chino Rheem, Andrew Lichtenberger, Neil Warren, Aram Zobian, Justin Zaki, Jim Collopy, and Justin Saliba.
The final table will be streamed Monday, September 29, on PokerGO at 1 p.m. PT, with cards in the air at 11:45.
