The 4th Annual Global Poker Awards was held in the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, NV, on Friday, March 3, with 27 trophies awarded throughout the evening. The show was broadcast exclusively on PokerGO.com, with the PokerGO Studio full of industry members, poker players, poker personalities, and many more.

Four categories were already determined, with Cherish Andrews winning GPI Female Player of the Year and Stephen Song winning both GPI Player of the Year and GPI Mid-Major Player of the Year. Stephen Chidwick was crowned the PGT Player of the Year for topping the 2022 PGT leaderboard with six wins, 32 cashes, and more than $6.3 million in earnings.

The awards were hosted by last year’s Global Poker Award winning Best Broadcaster, Jeff Platt and Drea Renee with a slew of other guests presenting awards throughout the night, such as Joe Stapleton, Ben Ludlow, and multiple Global Poker Award winner Ethan "Rampage" Yau. Platt was nominated once again for Best Broadcaster, but fell short to James Hartigan who took home the award this year.

Among those in attendance to accept their awards were Rising Star in Content Creation Caitlin Comeskey, Best Final Table Performance winner Dan Cates, and this year’s Best Industry Person Jack Effel.

Angela Jordison finished second to Cherish Andrews in the race for GPI Female Player of the Year, but was able to take home one award this year when she won Breakout Player of 2022. Jordison received a standing ovation from the crowd when giving her acceptance speech and dedicating the award to her father, who she used to play poker with.

For the third time the RUNGOOD Poker Series earned the award for Best Mid-Major Tour, while the WPT received honors for Best Event with their WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas. Matt Berkey and the crew from the Only Friends Podcast accepted the final award for the night when they took home the trophy for Best Podcast.
