Imsirovic and Negreanu Move Up the PokerGO Tour Leaderboard

The second season of the PokerGO Tour (PGT) is going strong. There are 22 events now complete following the recent ARIA High Rollers and the beginning of the 2022 Wynn Millions, and it’s a good time to take a look at the updated PGT leaderboard. Due to recent success in PGT-qualifying events, Ali Imsirovic and Daniel Negreanu improved their positions on the leaderboard. Imsirovic moved into third place with 840 points, and Negreanu improved to sixth place with 576 points.

Three ARIA High Rollers played out from the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas with two $10,000 buy-in tournaments, followed by a $15,000 buy-in tournament. Cary Katz, Ali Imsirovic, and Ivan Zufic all collected victories, while Sean Perry and Alex Foxen cashed in each of the three tournaments.

High roller action stayed in Las Vegas, Nevada, but moved to Wynn Las Vegas where the 2022 Wynn Millions series would be centered around the Wynn Millions $10,000 Main Event. Five high rollers were added to the schedule with two concluding prior to the commencement of the Wynn Millions Main Event beginning on March 3. Wynn High Roller #1: $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em attracted 49 entrants as Jake Schindler won his second event of the year, taking home $166,600 after defeating Joseph Cheong in heads-up play. The second event would be a $15,000 buy-in that attracted 40 entrants. 2021 PokerGO Cup Champion Daniel Negreanu won his second event of the year in a marathon final table where he outlasted Sergi Reixach to collect the $216,000 first-place prize.

Perry remains in second place on the PGT Leaderboard, while 2021 PokerGO Tour Player of the Year Imsirovic has now leapfrogged 2022 PokerGO Cup Champion Jeremy Ausmus to sit in third place. Negreanu has climbed into sixth overall above Foxen and Schindler, while Katz and Sean Winter round out the top ten.

Why Is the PGT Leaderboard Important?

For the 2022 PGT, players are all eyeing a seat in the season-ending PGT Championship where the top 21 players as ranked by the PGT leaderboard will earn their seat into the $500,000 winner-take-all freeroll to crown the PGT Championship winner for 2022.

What’s Coming Up On the PGT?

Upcoming on the 2022 PokerGO Tour is the Wynn Millions Main Event and three Wynn High Rollers running through March 8. Following the Wynn Millions series, the 2022 U.S. Poker Open will run from March 16-28 before the PokerGO Tour ventures internationally for the first time in 2022 with Triton Cyprus and Super High Roller Series Europe from April 2-15, 2022.
