Las Vegas, NV (June 6, 2025) — PokerGO®, the world’s leading poker content and streaming company, today announced its official acquisition of the rights to the National Heads-Up Poker Championship brand from NBC Sports. The acquisition marks the return of one of poker’s most iconic and celebrated tournament properties.

As part of the acquisition, PokerGO plans to bring back the National Heads-Up Poker Championship, with news of its return expected to be announced soon. New episodes of the event will premiere on Peacock following filming, marking a major broadcast partnership that helps usher the storied brand into a new era.

First introduced in 2005, the National Heads-Up Poker Championship gained widespread acclaim for its single-elimination, bracket-style format and nationally televised broadcasts. The series became a cultural touchstone during the height of the poker boom, showcasing legendary players such as Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Mike Matusow, and Erik Seidel in unforgettable one-on-one battles.

In addition, PokerGO obtains the full library of past National Heads-Up Poker Championship content, which will be made available soon across PokerGO’s distribution channels, including PokerGO’s owned-and-operated streaming platform.

“This is a monumental moment for poker fans,” said Mori Eskandani, President of PokerGO. “The National Heads-Up Poker Championship was one of the most innovative and prestigious events in the history of televised poker. We are proud to not only preserve its legacy by making classic episodes available to global fans, but also to usher in a new era for the brand under the PokerGO banner.”

The acquisition reflects PokerGO’s continued commitment to celebrating the history of the game while delivering world-class poker entertainment to a worldwide audience.
