The World Series of Poker announced the WSOP Global Casino Championship is set for Harrah’s Cherokee August 8 – 10, 2017. Players on the WSOP Circuit accrue points over the season for chance at a freeroll seat to the $1 million guaranteed bracelet event.

“The growth of the World Series of Poker Circuit over the last year has been astounding,” said Ty Stewart, WSOP Executive Director. “We are reaching new players in the United States and around the world and it’s great to have them square off against one another in this one-of-a-kind event. We’re thrilled to be back at the beautiful Harrah’s Cherokee once again, which has always been a great host for this prestigious event.”

Harrah’s Cherokee hosts the kickoff event to the 2017/2018 WSOPC season as well, with a full slate of 12 gold ring events running August 2 – 16, 2017. The Global Championship lands in the middle of the schedule and with 122 qualifiers from the Circuit.

Players that won a WSOPC Main Event, a WSOPC Casino Championship or land in the top 50 of WSOPC points qualify for the event. Players in the top 100 WSOP Player of the Year standings from 2016 are eligible but have to post a $10,000 buy-in. Also, any player that one a gold ring event during the season are eligible to buy-in for $10,000 as well.

All added entries are rake-free and the event could double the guarantee. All players that qualified earned three night’s stay at Harrah’s Cherokee and a $500 travel stipend. 

The Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort hosts the event for the third year in a row after developing into a player-favorite stop with two stops each season. The final table is scheduled to be taped for TV broadcast.

There are seven remaining domestic WSOPC stops and five international stops.
