Table talk makes up for the majority of the non-poker entertainment on Poker After Dark and “Sit-n-Talk” takes that up to the next level.
New to THE VAULT on PokerGO is an episode designed solely around table talk as six distinct voices battle in a $20,000 buy-in winner-take-all Sit-n-Go. As you might expect, the loudest voices in poker are there with Mike Matusow and Antonio Esfandiari on centerstage.
The biggest personality in terms of physical size is Jean-Robert Bellande, who is making his second career Poker After Dark appearance in this episode. Not a surprise to many, Bellande’s first ever appearance was in Season 3 on the “Hecklers” episode.
On the two ends of the table are players who while they don’t go out of their way to say much, make an impact when they do with David Grey and Jennifer Harman holding court.
In the middle of it all is Vanessa ‘Lady Maverick’ Rousso, who at this stage of Poker After Dark, was making her fourth appearance.
The look of Bellande with the beanie, sideburns, and sunglasses is a much different look from what we’ve come to expect from the ARIA high stakes regular in modern times.
There’s something to be said for the way Bellande has been able to maintain his television poker image and relevancy for over 10 years. In 2005, he labeled himself the “Bill Laimbeer of poker” during his first ever television appearance and has kept the Q-rating train rolling ever since.
Aside from his many poker appearances, Bellande also appeared on Survivor which didn’t hurt him staying in the public eye either.
In total, Bellande made five total appearances on Poker After Dark prior to the show’s return in August.
All players in the episode have made multiple appearances on the PAD stage by this point, making them more than comfortable to mix it up and play their game.
If you think one outsized personality is a lot, wait until you get six of them sitting together. Start your weekend in THE VAULT with a chatter-filled table on “Sit-n-Talk.”
