Last night, a brand-new format debuted on Poker After Dark. After high stakes cash games and a week of Pot Limit Omaha sessions dominated the series reboot over the last two months, the first hybrid cash game opened “High Stakes Hybrid” week. The structure, that boasted a $100,000 buy-in, was met with positive praise from some of the headlining players and the structure returns tonight, as a similar lineup is back for a second “High Stakes Hybrid” session.
Tuesday’s biggest winner, Dan Shak, returns after making his Poker After Dark debut last night, along with businessmen Mike Baxter and Brandon Steven. Shak and Steven clashed in one of the night’s biggest pots, while Baxter will try to break the ice, after a cold steak of cards didn’t allow him to get much going during the “High Stakes Hybrid” opener.
Doug Polk and Brian Rast drove most the conversations through the first night of play, but also drove their stacks across the finish line with some modest profits. They’ll look to book back-to-back wins on Wednesday, along with Jason Koon, who debuted his partypoker patch last night.
Koon, who was the feature of a PokerGO Pokerography earlier this year, was just announced as a member of partypoker’s advisory panel and has been one of Poker After Dark’s most successful players since August’s reboot. Koon booked a small win again last night, but will return to headline the action looking to increase his profits against another tough lineup.
The second installment of “High Stakes Hybrid” $100,000 hybrid cash games is live on PokerGO and you can watch all the action, starting at 6 PM ET. Be sure to follow Poker Central and PokerGO for exclusive content during “High Stakes Hybrid” week and catch up on past Poker After Dark episodes that are ready to stream on-demand on PokerGO.
