The 2025 ARIA High Roller Series began on Sunday with Event #1: $10,100 Pot-Limit Omaha from the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Emerging victorious was Griffin Paul, winning outright for $171,500 and 172 PGT points. The victory marked Paul's second PGT title, having previously won a PGT Stairway event in 2022.
The opening event of the 2025 ARIA High Roller Series drew a 49-entrant field, setting the prize pool at $490,000. The final seven players finished in the money and just missing out was Evan Krentzman, who ran kings into Jordan Glazer's aces to bubble and send the remaining seven to the final table with a min-cash secured.
Paul began the final table as the short stack, but found two double-ups right away through Nino Pansier to quickly ascend the chip counts. Veselin Karakitukov exited in seventh shortly thereafter, followed by Richard Green in sixth. Paul had taken the chip lead by this point and added to it when he eliminated Pansier in fifth place. Pansier flopped top set, but Paul had draws to both a flush and straight and made the flush to eliminate Pansier.
Glazer departed in fourth place, followed by John Riordan in third place, kicking off a heads-up battle between Paul and Richard Gryko. The chip counts were basically even at the start and both held turns as the chip leader, but ultimatelty it was Paul who took it down.
On the final hand, Gryko had the best of it when the chips went in on the flop hodling trip sevens, while Paul needed help with aces and sevens along with a backdoor ace-high flush draw. Running hearts saved the day for Paul, giving him the victory.
