Erik Seidel came into the final table as the chip leader and never let off the gas on his way to a title in PGT PLO Series Event #3: $5,100 Pot-Limit Omaha. Seidel held over 40% of the chips in play to start the day, and it took him less than three hours to accumulate the remaining 60% and capture the $171,500 first-place prize that came with it.
Action started quickly among the final five when Daniel Kim doubled early and James Chen was left short-stacked. Chen would fall in the first level of play, dropping to Seidel when he ran his jacks into Seidel’s queens. Seidel filled up by the river, sending Chen home as the fifth-place finisher for $42,900.
Kim was next to fall when he and Sean Winter, both on short stacks, tangled for it all. Winter held
against Kim’s
and made a full house by the river to take the pot and nearly double up. But the momentum didn’t last long, as Winter was eliminated on the very next hand by Seidel. Seidel got it in with queens, while Winter held ace-jack high with two suits. Seidel’s queens held through the board, earning him his second knockout of the day.
The heads-up match between John Riordan and Seidel lasted for over an hour, but nearly every pot seemed to go Seidel’s way. Riordan did find one double, but Seidel maintained more than a 2-to-1 chip lead for nearly the entire match. In the end, Seidel wore Riordan down to just a handful of big blinds, and in the final hand, Seidel picked up aces to seal the victory.
The win represents Seidel’s first title of the 2025 PGT season and earned him 172 PGT points to go along with the $171,500 top prize. He moves to second on the PGT PLO Series Leaderboard, just behind Jesse Lonis, who sits with 195 PGT points. John Riordan moves into fourth place with his finish, now sitting at 132 PGT points. All players are vying for the PGT Gold Cup and the $10,000 PGT Passport awarded to the leaderboard winner at the end of the series.
