The first event of the 2017 Triton Super High Roller Series in Manila returned three tables for the final day of play in the HK$250,000 Six Max event that drew 43 entries total. The final table of seven cashed in the event and it would two of the best high stakes players of their generations, Erik Seidel and Daniel Colman, facing off for the title. After back and forth heads-up, Colman bested Seidel for the title and HK$3,641,600.
Colman remains in fourth place on the All-Time money list and Seidel inched closer to overtaking Daniel Negreanu for the top spot by adding another $300,000. Seidel is now $1.5 million behind Negreanu and with the HK$1,000,000 event coming up on Saturday, Seidel has a realistic chance of narrowing that gap to six-figures.
2016 Super High Roller Bowl Champion Rainer Kempe finished in third place for his ninth final table finish in a high roller event.
Mustapha Kanit was eliminated on the final hand of play on Day 1 but re-entered at the start of Day 2 and rallied for a sixth-place finish and his eighth cash of the year so far. His cashes in 2017 stem from an average buy-in of $18,000.
Richard Yong, one of the main Macau game organizers, bubbled the event in eighth place when Yong shoved from the big blind holding ace nine offsuit. Aido called, had him out-kicked with ace jack and his kicker played when they both paired the ace.
