The 2025 ARIA High Roller Series concluded on Monday with Event #11: $15,100 No-Limit Hold'em from the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Emerging victorious was Christian Roberts, winning outright for $358,800 and 359 PGT points.
Roberts joined the field at the start and by the time registration closed, he had more than double the chips of his nearest competitor. He maintained that hefty chip lead as play venturfed toward the final table, eliminating several players along the way - including Shunjiro Kita and Adrian Mateos within a few minutes of each other to cement his lead at the top, en route to his taking it down.
The eleventh and final event of the 2025 ARIA High Roller Series drew a 92-entrant field, setting the prize pool at $1,380,000, both high marks. The final 14 players finished in the money and just missing out was Sam Soverel, running ace-jack into the pocket kings of Brian Breck.
Among those who cashed, but fell short of the final table, include Feliple Boianovky (14th), Ed Sebesta (13th), Chris Brewer (11th), Joao Simao (10th), Christoph Vogelsang (10th), Luciano Macchiarelli (9th), and Leonard Maue (8th).
When the final table was reached, Roberts had about 35% of the chips in play and the outcome was never really in question from there. He started things off by eliminating Juhnyoung Ki in seventh place with queens holding up against Ki's ace-ten. Following Kestutis Jungevicius' sixth-place elimination and Oliver Weis exiting in fifth place, Roberts got back in on the action when he dispatched David Chen in fourth place. Roberts woke up with pocket tens and held up against Chen's king-nine. Breck fell in third place, getting in his last few big blinds with ace-seven against Roberts' jack-eight. Two more eights found the board and Roberts was on the cusp.
Heads-up play began with Roberts holding more than a 10-to-1 chip lead and he closed it out on the second hand. Roberts picked up ace-ten and held up against Boris Angelov's ace-deuce to take it down for his second-largest career live score. The 359 PGT points he won also vaults him to 28th on the PGT leaderboard.
