The 2025 PGT PLO Series II kicked off from the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, with Event #1: $5,100 Pot-Limit Omaha. The tournament drew 146 entries, and Chino Rheem leads the final seven players.

Rheem got his chips in with a flopped top set near the end of the night, and he was still an equity dog against Anthony Hu's wrap and flush draw. Rheem rivered a boat to secure the massive pot, and he finished as the overnight chip leader with more than 38% of the chips in play. Rheem leads a final table that includes Jesse Lonis, Josh Arieh, Anthony Hu, Artem Maksimov, and Isaac Haxton. These six players will return with $36,500 locked up, but all eyes will be on the $175,000 first-place prize, 175 PGT points, and the Event #1 trophy.

The field of 146 entrants created a prize pool of $730,000, and the final 20 players earned a piece of it. Erik Seidel was the unfortunate bubble boy when he got his chips in on a flop and made an inferior flush on the turn. Stephen Hubbard (20th), Eran Carmi (19th), Allan Le (18th), Billy Tarango (17th), Jim Collopy (16th), Gruffudd Pugh-Jones (15th), Joe Serock (14th), John Riordan (13th), Alex Foxen (12th), satellite qualifier Xiaoxiao Song (11th), James Chen (10th), Nick Palma (9th), and Sean Winter (8th) were the first to fall in the money.

The remaining players converged on a single table, and soon after, Lonis got his chips in on a flop in rough shape against Frederic Normand's double-suited aces. Lonis spiked a set on the turn and left his opponent with crumbs, and Normand was eliminated shortly after in seventh place. Rheem then scored his big double to take the chip lead, and the players played out the level before they bagged to return for Day 2.
