Solving Situational Saturday: What Did "Jungleman" Do?
Coming into tonight’s ARIA $25K High Roller final table, a few players had a chance to record their second ARIA victory of 2017. Cary Katz opened the year with another title and Scott Seiver earned his first career ARIA win last night. Brian Rast won the first $50K Super High Roller of the calendar year and tonight, The King added to his legendary tournament resume.
Rast came into the final table near the top of the charts and a few hands after the redraw, skyrocketed over the 1,000,000 chip mark. From there, he never looked back. He changed gears flawlessly and again proved why he is considered one of the best in the world.
The last time Rast was in the ARIA winner’s circle, we talked about how the former Super High Roller Bowl champion always strives to compete at the “highest echelon of poker.” In the high stakes community, these ARIA High Rollers certainly fit that billing.
He may have a nearly unmatched tournament resume but that isn’t stopping Rast from seeing how much higher he can take his game. With two ARIA wins through the first three months of the year, the sky may just be the limit for Rast in 2017 and he could be reaching even higher echelons heading towards some of the year’s biggest events.
