Cary Katz Eyes Top Spot on PokerGO Cup Leaderboard at Event #4 Final Table

The stakes have been raised at the 2022 PokerGO Cup with Event #4: $15,000 No-Limit Hold’em attracting a 65-entrant field at the PokerGO Studio on Saturday in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Those 65 entrants created a prize pool of $975,000 that paid the final ten finishes, while a $263,250 first-place prize awaits the eventual winner. The player best-positioned to take home the lion’s share of the Event #4 prize pool is Cary Katz who was involved in the final two eliminations of the day to end with the chip lead of 2,160,000 in chips. Katz has one eye on a Sunday victory when the final table concludes on PokerGO.com, and another on taking the top spot on the PokerGO Cup leaderboard from Sean Perry. Perry sits on top with 232 points following his victory and Event #3 cash, but Katz can overtake Perry with a fifth-place finish.

Trailing Katz at the Event #4 final table is Justin Saliba (1,970,000), Bill Klein (1,250,000), Brock Wilson (975,000), Jeremy Ausmus (900,000), and Jesse Lonis (870,000). Each player has locked up a $58,500 payday with this being Klein’s first cash of the 2022 PokerGO Cup. Saliba and Lonis both have already earned cashes in prior events, but they are at their first 2022 PokerGO Cup final table of the series. Both Wilson and Ausmus final tabled Event #3, and they also have PokerGO Cup leaderboard aspirations with Ausmus needing a fourth-place to overtake Perry, while Wilson needs at least a runner-up finish.

Cards were in the air for Event #4 with a few new faces in the field as it grew to 65 entrants by the time registration closed. Many familiar names were among the final two tables, but once Bryn Kenney, 2021 PokerGO Tour Champion Ali Imsirovic, and Event #1 winner Dan Colpoys all were eliminated, it would be Daniel Negreanu being eliminated on the money bubble in 11th place.

Jake Schindler, Steve Zolotow, Alex Foxen, and Ian Bradley all collected in-the-money finishes before the final table of six would be set with play concluding on Sunday, February 6, at 12 p.m. PT with the final table airing on PokerGO.com at 1 p.m. PT.

When play resumes, Level 15 will continue with 20:00 remaining and the button will be in Seat 3 with a dead small blind.

The player that finishes on top of the PokerGO Cup leaderboard will earn the PokerGO Cup and a $50,000 championship bonus.
