PGT leaderboard points are awarded for in-the-money finishes in qualifying poker tournaments. The PGT will calculate all cashes of $1,000,000 or less using five tiers correlating to buy-in amounts: .0010 points per dollar cashed in $10,000 to $14,999 buy-in events, .008 points per dollar cashed in $15,000 to $24,999 buy-in events, .006 points per dollar cashed for in $25,000 to $49,999 buy-in events, .004 points per dollar cashed in $50,000 to $99,999 buy-in events, and .0003 points per dollar cashed in $100,000 or more buy-in events.
New for the 2026 PGT season are increased points for tournaments with buy-ins of $5,000 or less, broken up into two categories. Tournaments with buy-ins of $5,000 will receive .0015 points per dollar, while tournaments with buy-ins of $3,000 or less will receive .0020 points per dollar. The points formula will be capped at $299,999, and with cashes of $300,000 or more, points will be allocated per $50,000 at 650 for $3,000 buy-ins or less, and 500 for $5,000 buy-ins. For cashes in each subsequent $50,000 block, points will increase by 25. For example, a cash of $525,000 in a $3,000 buy-in will be 750 PGT points, and a cash of $765,000 in a $5,000 buy-in will be 725 PGT points.
Cashes of $1,000,000 or more in buy-ins of $10,000 or greater are broken into additional tiers of structured segments, with full information in the following table.

*The cash column defaults to the same major currency used for the buy-in (AUD, EUR, GBP, USD), HKD events will be divided by 10. For payouts above the threshold in the above table, points increase in the same pattern as the ones in the table.
In PGT-owned-and-operated events, PGT points will be tied to each player's official finishing position in the tournament. Regardless if a championship bonus is awarded.
In PGT-owned-and-operated bounty events, PGT points will be weighted to account for removing bounties from the overall prize pool paid out as standard payouts. For example, in a $5,000 buy-in bounty tournament where $2,000 is allocated to the bounty prize, the points formula will be altered from 0.001 points per dollar cashed to 0.00166 points per dollar cashed.
The 2026 season of the PGT will culminate in the season-ending PGT Championship. The 2026 PGT Championship is a freeroll with the amount to be announced later this season. The PGT Championship is open to the top 40 eligible players, ranked by the PGT leaderboard, and select Dream Seat™ winners. The PGT Championship prize pool will be paid out as a combination of cash and a PGT Passport, which allows players to use the funds to pay for PGT-owned and operated events held in the PokerGO Studio. PGT Passport funds cannot be assigned, transferred, or withdrawn for cash.
Eligibility requirements for the Top 40 are four (4) cashes in PGT events during the current season, including one cash in a PGT-owned-and-operated event, and an opt-in to play before the final series; otherwise, the seat is rolled to the next eligible player. A Dream Seat will be awarded during PGT Last Chance to the top five players on the PGT Last Chance leaderboard who do not qualify for the PGT Championship via top 40 eligibility. Click here for more information on earning a Dream Seat.
Players’ starting chips will be based on their position on the PGT leaderboard, with 40th place starting with 130 big blinds. The exact PGT points for starting stack conversion will be announced later in the season. In addition to starting the PGT Championship with the most chips, the player who earns the most PGT points during the year will be awarded a trophy and declared the 2026 PGT Player of the Year.
PGT Championship Bonuses
Championship bonuses are awarded to the player who earns the most PGT points during a qualifying PGT series. To be eligible to win a Championship Bonus, a player must cash in at least two events in a series. Exact bonuses will be announced later this season. Championship bonuses are paid as a PGT Passport, which allows players to use the funds to pay for PGT-owned and operated events held in the PokerGO Studio. PGT Passport funds cannot be assigned, transferred, or withdrawn for cash.
If there is a tie for 1st place, the winnings will be split evenly. Wins will determine the winner, then cashes, then overall earnings. If there is still a tie after those three categories, then there will be a high-card drawing to decide the series champion.

PGT Shot Clock
The PGT shot clock is 20 seconds preflop and 30 seconds postflop. Time extensions are worth 30 seconds regardless of the street. In most events, players who enter the tournament before the first break will receive eight (8) time extensions, while those who enter after the first break begins will receive six (6) time extensions. Additional time extensions will be distributed to players in the money if the field exceeds 71 entrants (2) or 85 entrants (3). The final seven (7) players will receive six (6) additional time extensions. The number of time extensions may increase due to factors including buy-in, structure, and tournament style.
