Anuj Agarwal faced a three and a half to one chip deficit to start heads-up play against Nick Schulman, but the California-based pro doubled up with pocket aces the first hand in route to winning the Bellagio High Roller Event #7 $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em for $156,400.
The 46 entrant field created a prize pool of $460,000 that paid the top seven finishers. Schulman takes home $101,200 for his second-place finish but could not close out Agarwal late after holding the chip lead for the majority of the final table.
Schulman got us to heads up play when his pocket aces held against Elio Fox’s ace-jack in over a three million chip pot. Fox found a jack on the turn, but he finished in third place when the river bricked out for $69,000. Vikenty Shegal finished in fourth place for $46,000 after losing most of his chips to Agarwal when his ace-ten ran into Agarwal’s pocket kings.
After finishing fourth in Event #6, Jeremy Ausmus ran deep for the second day in a row, once again playing the role of short stack ninja as he navigated the ICM minefield to a 5th place finish for $36,800 after running his jack-ten into the pocket tens of Fox.
Sung Joo Hyun cashed for the third time this series when he finished in 6th place for $27,600 after running his ace-king into the pocket jacks of Schulman. The South Korean-born pro moves his total winnings over the last five days to just over $260,000.
Victoria Livschitz cashed for the first time on the PokerGO Tour presented by Guaranteed Rate after navigating one of two short stacks on the money bubble to a 7th place finish worth $23,000.
Michael Lang waited for the perfect hand to get his last 100,000 chips into the middle and found it in the big blind with ace-king against Fox’s ace-queen. Despite the patience, fate was not kind to Lang as Fox flopped a pair of queens to eliminate Lang and burst the money bubble.
This tournament is part of the PokerGO Tour with players earning points based on the amount they cash for. The full PokerGO Tour schedule can be found here, and the current PokerGO Tour presented by Guaranteed Rate leaderboard is available here.
