Poker Masters Event #4 $10,000 Short Deck Day 1 Recap

Before you tune in for tonight’s action on NBC Sports, here’s a brief overview of the action that leads to the final table of six with Dominik Nitsche as your chip leader. The debut of Short Deck Poker inside the PokerGO Studio during the Poker Masters coincided with the debut of this game at this stake on the North American continent.

A total of 55 entries were made into this event, creating a first prize of $176,000 with eight places getting paid. After eight hours of play, Justin Young was eliminated on the bubble to by the hands of chip leader Andrew Robl.

Right after the bubble, both Ryan Tosoc and Isaac Haxton doubled through Jason Koon who exited shortly thereafter in eighth place for $22,000. Koon was knocked out by Tosoc who came from behind to win with king-ten versus ace-seven.

The first day concluded with Jonathan Depa busted in seventh place for $27,500 when he couldn’t win the flip with ace-king versus the queens of Robl. Depa flopped a king but a queen on the river sealed his fate. Here are the chip counts coming into tonight’s final table on NBC Sports.
