The 2009 World Series of Poker saw 57 events on the schedule, but one event that attracted the eyes of mainstream media was the $5,000 Ante Up for Africa Charity Event.

From Hollywood stars, poker professionals, and amateurs, a total of 137 players created a prize pool of $665,820. The final two tables would finish in-the-money as Alex Bolotin topped the field to win his first WSOP bracelet.

On today’s Run it Back show, Remko Rinkema sat down with poker commentator and comedian Joe Stapleton to relive the 2009 Ante Up for Africa Charity Event. Stapleton discusses the home game he partakes in, the jobs he wishes he could get, and how he couldn’t be funnier than Norman Chad.
