The first event of the 2019 U.S. Poker Open would be Event #1: $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em that attracted 90 entrants and created a $900,000 prize pool.

A total of 13 players finished in-the-money including Erik Seidel, Jordan Cristos, Bryn Kenney, and Jake Schindler, while the likes of Lazaro Hernandez and Joseph Cheong reached the final table.

When the final two players were left standing, it was 2018 U.S. Poker Open Champion Stephen Chidwick facing Sean Winter.

Playing for the $216,000 first-place prize, the final hand would be a brutal one for Winter as he floated the flop to turn a set of eights. Unfortunately for Winter, that gave Chidwick a straight as all the chips entered the middle and no help came for Winter.

The final hand that sealed the deal for Chidwick’s victory can be watched on YouTube now.
