Did you know that PokerGO provides more than the biggest collection of live and on-demand action? If you didn’t, let me get you caught up with original content that goes deeper than just cards, chips, all-ins and bust-outs! Real Talk on PokerGO provides you with a unique insight into some of the best players in the world talking about the hottest topic in the game.

On this episode of Real Talk, I’m joined by Greg Merson and Jason Koon to talk about the ups and downs in the life of a top professional, ranging from the highest highs to the lowest lows. Koon and Merson traveled very different paths to the top but a lot of similarities can be found in what they had to overcome in order to get where they are today.

“I really think that dropping down in stakes when you’re on a downswing and swallowing your ego to build some momentum to move up stakes again has really helped me in my career,” 2012 WSOP Main Event champion Greg Merson said on Real Talk when asked what he believes are important traits a poker pro should have.

“To be at the highest stakes you sacrifice a lot of things that people value. You give up family time, leisure time, I don’t watch sports anymore, and if you look at the best online guys, they’re always sitting there playing,” Jason Koon added to Merson’s sentiments.
