The first-ever PGT Heads-Up Showdown begins Thursday, April 21, featuring 32 players all buying in for $25,000 and competing for a $400,000 top prize. The event will be live-streamed on PokerGO.com along with portions on the PokerGO YouTube channel over three days, Thursday through Saturday. On Tuesday, Jeff Platt and Brent Hanks were joined by ARIA’s Paul Campbell to conduct the draw for the bracket. Let’s take a look at who matched up with who in the first round.

The bracket is broken down into four sections, each designated by one of the card suits. In the Spades Bracket, we’ve got Sam Soverel against Sean Winter, Alex Foxen against Simon Yu, Shannon Shorr versus Shaun Deeb, and Justin Young battling Richie Sklar. The Spades Bracket will eventually meet up with the Clubs Bracket. In the Clubs Bracket, it’s Jared Bleznick versus Daniel Negreanu, Tamon Nakamura against Stanley Tang, Dylan Gang against Erik Seidel, and Darren Elias versus Landon Tice.

The other side of the bracket contains the Diamonds Bracket and the Hearts Bracket. In the Diamonds Bracket, it’s Chino Rheem versus Nick Schulman, Jeremy Ausmus against Chris Brewer, Ali Imsirovic taking on Jake Daniels, and Bill Klein against Phil Galfond. In the Hearts Bracket, Nicholas Rigby takes on Dan Shak, Eric Persson meets with Phil Hellmuth, Alex Livingston takes on Scott Ball, and Scott Seiver goes against Isaac Kempton.
