In his first event of the PokerGO Cup, Jake Schindler heads into the final table with a nearly two to one chip advantage over Sean Winter, David Peters, and Daniel Negreanu. David Coleman, who makes his third final table of the series, and Stephen Chidwick are the two short stacks to round out the final six players. The 36 entrant field created a prize pool of $900,000, with the winner taking home $324,000, while the reaming players are all guaranteed at least $45,000.

Schindler vaulted into the chip lead when he eliminated Alex Foxen in eighth place early in level 11. Schindler opened in early position and was called by Peters on the button before Foxen moved all-in from the big blind for his last 180,000. Schindler re-raised all-in, and Peters folded. Schindler held ace-queen against the ace-king of Foxen, and Schindler rivered a queen to send the Event: #2 champion to the rail.

Following Foxen’s elimination, play slow considerably as the players were on the direct bubble, but that only allowed Schindler’s chip lead to grow. Schindler used a steady diet of raises and 3-bets to nearly double his stack over the last level and a half of play while never playing an all-in pot.

Meanwhile, David Peters, who started the unofficial final table with over one million in chips, would double up Negreanu to pull the two players nearly dead even in chips to end the day. Negreanu was all-in for his tournament life, holding ace-king against the ace-queen of Peters. Negreanu flopped trip kings but had to fade broadway on the river to double.

Sergi Reixach would just miss out on his third cash and third stream of the series when he fell in seventh place to burst the money bubble. Reixach moved all-in for his last 70,000, holding pocket sevens on the button, and Winter called in the big blind with nine-four. Winter turned a nine, and Reixach headed to the rail as the remaining six players bagged and tagged for the evening.
