Daniel Weinand Finds Himself With the Chip Lead as Event #3: $10,000 No-Limit Hold is Down to the Final Six

Daniel Weinand finds himself with 32% of the chips in play as Event #3: $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em is down to the final six. Joining Weinand in the final six are Jake Daniels, Jeremy Ausmus, Sean Winter, Brock Wilson, and Chris Moorman.

The 80-entrant field created a prize pool of $800,000, with the winner walking away with $200,000. The final six players have all locked up a cash of at least $48,000 but will need to overcome the chip lead of Weinand to walk away with the title and the $200,000.

Weinand found himself with just over 200,000 on the money bubble, but after finding two doubles, one through Scott Ball and the other through Wilson, the Shopify co-founder hit a groove and ended the night with just north of 3.1 million. Weinand started his run to the top by eliminating Sean Perry in ninth place for $32,000 when he turned a pair of queens to crack the pocket jacks of Perry, cross the one million chip mark and send us to the final table. Perry, meanwhile, follows up his Event #2 win with the ninth-place finish and currently sits atop the PokerGO Cup standings with 232 points.

Weinand would stay hot as the final table began and quickly started moved to over 1.5 million when he flopped a pair of kings to best Scott Ball late in level 15. In the first few hands of level 16, Weinand would cross the two million chip mark when he flopped a set of eights against the pocket jacks of Daniels.

Eights would find their way back to Weinand again, and this time he flopped quads against Chris Moorman to cross the 2.6 million chip mark and move into the chip lead for the rest of the night.

On the other hand, Ball went from one of the chip leaders when the final table began to out the door in eighth place for $32,000 when his river bluff was picked off Ausmus’s pocket queens. Ball cashed for the third time in as many days and currently sits in 3rd place on the PokerGO Cup leader board with 174 points, just behind Event #1 Winner Daniel Colpoys and his 200 points.

Michael Wang cashed for the first time this series when he navigated his short stack into an eighth-place finish for $40,000. Others to finish in the money included Steve Zolotow in tenth place for $24,000, Justin Saliba in 11th place for $24,000, and Jake Schindler in 12th place for $16,000.

Barry Hutter was on the outside looking in as he was eliminated in 13th place to burst the Event #3 money bubble when his flopped pair of nines were bested by the turned pair of queens of Wang. Other notables to make a deep run but finish just shy of a cash included current PokerGO Tour leader Nick Petrangelo, 2019 Poker Masters Winner Sam Soverel, and high-stakes regulars David Coleman and Shannon Shorr.
