Mike Gorodinsky is one of the featured players on Dolly’s Game, as a four-game mix is spread inside the PokerGO Studio with $1,000/$2,000 limits, and the former winner of the $50,000 Poker Players Championship loves tangling with his favorite foe: Doyle Brunson.

On the first night of Dolly’s Game, Gorodinsky was the biggest winner, banking roughly $50,000 in part due to this hand he won versus Anthony Alberto.

Gorodinsky doesn’t make many appearances at the tables outside of the World Series of Poker these days, holing up in Colorado where he spends most of his time climbing and skiing, but for this game, he gladly made an exception to square off against the man he’s had a long-standing rivalry with.

“Doyle hates losing even a penny to anybody and I back in 2016 I had a really good summer in Bobby’s Room where I had a ton of winning days in a row. Doyle probably got a little sick of it and it just stuck with him. I think it brewed from that.”

Ever since, the exchanges between Gordo and Dolly on Twitter have been rather epic, as shown perfectly in the following Tweets.

“I’m one of the few people on earth that can say that they’ve been cyber-bullied by an 85-year-old man,” Gorodinsky laughed after we brought up his ongoing and ever-entertaining Twitter exchanges with the Godfather of Poker.

“This is something to be proud of,” Gorodinsky continued with a smile, “We’re just having fun on Twitter and I know it can seem harsh, and Doyle loves putting it in deep, but it’s all in good fun. I think Doyle and I like playing with each other, we played a lot of a lot of sessions over the last few summers and I think we both approach gambling in poker in a similar way and know how to give and take some jabs as well.”

For quite a few years now, Gorodinsky has been a regular inside Bobby’s Room where he frequents an 11-game mix with stakes varying between $1,500/$3,000 and $2,000/$4,000. The winner of the U.S. Poker Open Pot Limit Omaha event in 2018 is proud of being part of the biggest and toughest regular high stakes mixed game in the world, a game he dreamed of playing in as he was coming up many years ago.

“Looking back, it’s nice realizing my aspiration of playing in Bobby’s Room and it’s super fun. We’re all in poker because we love playing, like gambling and competing, and it’s just it’s cool to be able to do that with the best in the world.”

While being both competitive and filled with a great sense for banter, Gorodinsky is also filled with praise for Brunson, who’s still playing at an elite level despite his age.

“In the games that Doyle is really good at, and that he’s played his entire life, he does things differently than everyone. It’s great playing with him, he’s a legend and he’s still super sharp at 85 and yeah I hope to be able to do the same thing when I’m his age.”

Gorodinsky might come back into town for another two nights of Dolly’s Game later this Spring, but until then he’ll be hanging out in Colorado to get ready for the World Series of Poker. Watch Gorodinsky on PokerGO right now in Dolly’s Game.
