When you think of the words that most closely associate with poker superstar Bryn Kenney, swag, style, chill, and confidence come to mind. During the $300,000 Super High Roller Bowl all four of those are on display, as Kenney picked some extraordinary attire for this big occasion.

“I’m wearing a nice green Japanese yukata, which is what the Japanese wear when they go to the onsen. I’d say that’s the most gangster spot to go in Japan because it’s the best place to chill. If people are chilling at the spa in this, why not take that level of chilling to this $300k tournament. To me, it just sounds like the perfect way to be chilling.”

Per Wikipedia:

yukata (浴衣) is a Japanese garment, a casual summer kimono usually made of cotton or synthetic fabric, and unlined.

An onsen  (温泉) is a Japanese hot spring and the bathing facilities and inns frequently situated around them. As a volcanically active country, Japan has thousands of onsens scattered throughout all of its major islands.

If you’ve followed Bryn on Instagram, you’ve noticed how his feed is slowly but surely turning into a Japan fan page, as the Long Island-born pro visited the land of the rising sun no less than three times in the last year.

“I just love the Samurai style, being very focused having your mind right, and being kind to people. I love that about Japan,” Kenney said about his affection for Japan.

Back to the outfit, Kenney adds that this is not the last we’ll see of his extravagant style as he has his eye set on the $5,000,0000 first prize in this event.

“As you know, you have to have four good outfits for this event because it’s four days long, and this is my Day 1 swag. Just wait and see what I have in store for the next few days.”

“I took the day off yesterday, hung out with some friends, and got my mind right for a lot of deep thinking poker. I know I’ve already put in all the hours for my game to be strong, so I’m ready for this moment. Now all I have to do is be relaxed and enjoy the moment.”

Kenney definitely looks more comfortable than any other player in the field today, but only time and the cards will tell whether the No. 9 ranked player on poker’s all-time money list will improve upon his sixth-place finish in this event back in 2016. Watch the action live right now on PokerGO as the live stream of Day 1 is underway.
