2015 WSOP Main Event: Hand of the Year

The Moment of the 2015 WSOP Main Event turned out to also be Hand of the Year, as Justin Schwartz’s set under set collision with Joe McKeehen dominated the votes. Unlike last week’s nail biting finish, the cooler of 2015 collected two-thirds of the votes and won in a landslide.

While Schwartz’s set under set elimination dominated, Daniel Negreanu’s expert Day 7 fold was also a fan favorite. “Kid Poker’ was put in a tough spot against Joe McKeehen and correctly folded ace-king to keep his Main Event run alive.

Both Schwartz and Negreanu were dispatched before the November Nine, but Zvi Stern and Neil Blumenfield used their Hand of the Year nominees to vault themselves to the final table. Stern’s was one of the worst beats in Main Event history, while Blumenfield’s spanned back-to-back hands against John Allan Hinds.
