Detectors for Research
LS Series Detectors
Lithium drifted silicon detectors are available in a variety of active areas. These detectors provide excellent energy resolution from light elements to 30 keV, and have transistor reset preamplifiers for maximum throughput.
IGX Series Detectors
Optimum resolution combined with higher “Z” allows for the broadest energy response available. IGX detectors have the best resolution allowing X-ray detection as low as boron. High efficiency allows the same detector to have the highest X-ray energy response as well.
Sahara Silicon Drift Detectors
Sahara Silicon Drift Detectors (SDDs) offer premium energy resolution without liquid nitrogen. Sahara detector energy resolution now matches Si(Li) detector resolution at 5.9 keV and permits spectroscopy to as low as the boron K alpha line. Short time constants and optimized PGT electronics offer maximum high rate performance.
Multi-Element Arrays
PGT has built a variety of multi-element arrays for use in and out of vacuum. Both Si(Li) and HPGe arrays are available for the highest throughput available for Synchrotron beam line applications as well as higher energy applications in the areas of waste analysis, higher energy physics and homeland security.
PGT System 4004X
A versatile stand alone electronics package. The 4004X is all that is needed to convert detector pulses to usable data. The package includes all necessary high voltage and low voltages for detector and preamplifier operation, spectroscopy amplifier, and ADC and MCA. All hardware is software controlled and analysis software includes peak search, ID, background subtract and quantitative analysis.
PGT MCA 4000
PGT’s MCA/ADC stand alone module offers many of the same features as the 4004X but allows the user to use an external amplifier. The MCA 4000 is available in 1K, 2K and 4K options and is very economically priced.
