Setting Regions of Interest (ROI)

A Region of Interest (ROI) is defined as a range of energies, usually covering a peak in the spectrum. Quantum MCA software includes a computer-driven Peak Search routine, along with Peak Identify, the qualitative analysis routine based on a Nuclide Library. The Peak Search parameters are controlled in the Tool Setup panel.

While some users prefer such an automated approach to pulse height analysis, it is also possible to manually set and adjust ROIs before the peak information is calculated. Simply use the mouse and one key to draw out each ROI. Adjusting ROIs is as simple as clicking the mouse in the ROI and then using the lower tool bar to make the desired changes.
