Hardware Search and Configuration

PGT MCA hardware includes interfaces for Ethernet, RS232, and RS485. No slots in the PC are required for any PGT instrument. A convenient hardware search routine is used to find all PGT MCAs that are connected to the PC via one of the interfaces. This routine establishes communication between the PC and the hardware. By virtue of this technique, QuantumMCA automatically configures itself for the appropriate hardware assigned to that memory allocation.

Currently, the number of spectrometers and/or MCAs that can be controlled by QuantumMCA is eight.
