Semirugged Sodium Iodide Detectors
PGT provides a selection of sodium iodide detectors for applications that require weather resistance. Each assembly consists of a standard sodium iodide cylindrical planar detector housed inside a PVC container. Foam padding and O-rings seal the enclosure, prevent the detector from moving, and provide a small degree of shock resistance. The tube base and divider string are integrated into the enclosure. External connections for the signal (BNC) and detector bias (MHV) are available via the rear panel. The rear panel is constructed of anodized aluminum. A thin, rugged PVC entrance window seals the enclosure on the crystal end. The outer walls of the enclosure are 0.188 inches thick. Because the diameters of their respective enclosures are large, the assemblies for the 2X2 and 3X3 detectors also include handles.
