Growth through Innovative Tools for Research and Environmental Safety
Princeton Gamma Tech Instruments, provider of X-ray and nuclear detectors and electronics and software:
PGT is proud to continue its 40-year tradition of innovation and manufacturing excellence in Nuclear and X-ray semiconductor detectors and spectroscopy equipment. 2005 saw the introduction of the revolutionary Sahara-II Silicon Drift Detector, the only SDD available that offers both high count rate capability (>50 kcps) and high energy resolution (~140 eVFWHM Mn) simultaneously. We look forward to the introduction of more new and exciting detector and spectroscopy technology in 2006.
New Year Message from the President |
 |
Recently, a friend of mine reminded me that the month of January is named for the Greek god Janus, who is portrayed as having two faces: one looking back (to the old year), and one looking forward to the new. And so it is in the life of PGT right now. We look back proudly on the achievements of the past 40 years while eagerly looking forward to future growth built on past successes.
|
Some highlights of 2005 include the successful installation of the Multi-element Array X-ray detector at the Spring-8 synchrotron in Japan, the introduction of the Sahara-II detector, and of course, new company investors to attract future growth opportunities. The sale of the Microanalysis business to Bruker-AXS towards the end of the year was an historical milestone for the company, and presents an opportunity for PGT to focus its managerial and technical development resources on other areas of future growth.
PGT understands that growth and success for the company is inseparable from that of our customers, and that a "customer-centered value system" is the key for any successful business. We carry this belief in the forefront of our minds as we conduct our daily business, and we wish all our customers another exciting and prosperous year in 2006!

Contract Award
In December 2005 PGT was awarded a contract to manufacture and install a low noise Germanium detectors to a Florida University . PGT's HPGe detectors and electronics are a first choice in the nuclear spectroscopy field for their scientific versatility, ease of use, and stable outputs.
Bruker-AXS Service Agreement:
Beginning January 1, 2006, PGT's X-ray detector service operation became the authorized detector service agent for the Bruker-AXS Microanalysis division in the U.S. Our support team of engineers and scientists understand the cost of down-time. PGT's priority service and 40 years of experience offers fast turn around on repairs to limit down-time.
New Facility
On December 21, 2005, PGT signed a 5-year lease agreement for a new facility on the prestigious Forrestal business park in Princeton, and in March 2006, PGT will be moving into its great new headquarters. The new building allows us to further improve our already world-leading X-ray detectors and low background HPGe detectors for nuclear spectroscopy, and provides additional R&D and production facilities.
